A director and screenwriter described by The New York Times as a “pioneering indie filmmaker”, Amos Poe is one of the leading figures of the late ’70s and early ’80s No Wave Cinema movement that grew out of the bustling East Village music and art scene. He teaches screenwriting, directing and production at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. His most recent films are Empire II (2007) and La Commedia di Amos Poe (2011).
